Good morning! I'm so delighted that we're getting the rain early this week, and that it's nice and gentle so it can soak in. That means we should be all clear for our Cops + Cones event on Wednesday evening. Don't forget to come grab your free cone and enjoy some time with our local men and women in blue! Wednesday, August 19, 7-8pm at Pirone Park in Ayer 💕 The weather forecast is perfect and the ice cream is free...what more could you ask for on a beautiful summer night?

Two other quick things I want to remind you about:
  • RachelSunflower01432@gmail.com is our friend Rachel's contact if you'd like her to help you with harvesting/donating any of your excess vegetables and fruits from your gardens. We've been really blessed by the amount of local fresh food that has been passing through our pantry on it's way to someone's table!
  • The Ayer Police Station continues to be a dropoff point for SHELF STABLE food donations through the entire month of August. If you missed Fill-a-Cruiser, you can simply pivot to fill-the-lobby!

Thank you to those of you who contacted us last week after I wrote about needing some more Saturday morning pantry people and some more Friday cooks. We really appreciate you. If you've been looking for ways to volunteer or to get more involved with us, we still have a room for more friends, especially for Friday cooks or bakers. Email me back for all the details if you'd like to find out more about either of these. Asking for details, or even coming to visit and trying it out once, is not committing you to anything!

One Small Thing
Cookies! Homemade cookies are small things, but it's amazing how much they are appreciated by our friends who visit the pantry. Some of them, I swear that that's the main reason they come :-) So thank you so much to our cookie bakers and to Laurie S for coordinating it all. You guys are the best!

If you'd like to shop for us this week, we are in need of snack foods, and not just for the kids! Things like pudding cups, boxes of crackers, peanut butter crackers and granola bars...we hand these out both Friday night and Saturday mornings. We can take drop-offs at the pantry (through the gray door next to the parking lot on Cambridge Street) only on Wednesdays from 10 to noon, Fridays from 4 to 5, and Saturdays only from 9 to 10. Please do not leave food at the door outside of these hours. The bin is available to drop off SHELF-STABLE FOODS ONLY at Shop n' Save if those times don't suit, and of course during August, you can also drop off SHELF-STABLE FOODS ONLY at the Ayer Police Station. Please leave a note in the bag with your name so we know whom to thank! We are located at 21 Washington Street, Suite C, Ayer MA 01432

Get ready for ice cream on Wednesday...I love you all!
