Good morning everyone! What a beautiful weekend, and there are many beautiful things to tell you about too. I've highlighted in yellow the volunteer opportunities below, so if your email reader supports that, it will make it easy to see how you can get involved with our vibrant community.
Our Friday dinner community continues to grow, and we find ourselves in need of some more volunteers. We also have a couple of slots opening up for Saturday morning pantry volunteers and another Wednesday morning packing crew member. If you have any interest in being a part of our potluck, packing, or pantry community, please leave a private comment here with your email address!
The annual August food drive at the Ayer Police Station is starting this coming weekend. You'll be able to drop off donations there all August, in addition to the usual spots at Ayer Shop 'n Save and at the pantry at specific times. The advantage of the Police Station is its availability around the clock! Another wonderful event in the middle of this food drive is that APD and the Ayer/Shirley/Groton Rotary Club will be conducting a Fill-a-Cruiser event on Sunday August 9 from 10 to 1 in the Shop 'n Save parking lot! If you'd like to volunteer to help unload, sort, and pack the results of this event, please leave a private comment here with your email address. Many hands made light work last year!
Please don't forget to put our Cops and Cones event on your calendar! Wednesday, August 19th from 7 to 8 at Pirone Park. This should be a fun event for the whole family, and a chance to chat with some of our finest first responders.

One Small Thing
Our friends at the Congregational Church of Harvard, led by Sue B, put together Cleaning Kits for us to give out. They included household cleaning products, and they are...gone!

If you'd like to shop for us this week, we seem to always be in need of size large adult diapers, small boxes of instant potatoes, baked beans, and canned pasta like spaghettios. We can take drop-offs at the pantry (through the gray door next to the parking lot on Cambridge Street) only on Wednesdays from 10 to noon, Fridays from 4 to 5, and Saturdays only from 9 to 10. Please do not leave food at the door outside of these hours. The bin is available to drop off SHELF-STABLE FOODS ONLY at Shop n' Save if those times don't suit, and of course during August, you can also drop off SHELF-STABLE FOODS ONLY at the Ayer Police Station. Please leave a note in the bag with your name so we know whom to thank! We are located at 21 Washington Street, Suite C, Ayer MA 01432
Enjoy the week, and know that we appreciate and love you all!
