Good morning! What a relief today is from all of the recent heat and humidity. And pollen...yikes! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, especially after the humidity broke on Sunday. We had our "end of the year" picnic at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ayer on Sunday, and the breeze and the shade made it a lovely event.
I have a couple of reminders this morning, and a couple of news items to bring to everyone's attention.
Reminder #1: Nashoba Associated Boards of Health nurses will be doing wellness checks, including things like checking blood pressure and answering questions, Friday June 19 from 4 to 5 pm at Stone Soup Kitchen. No appointments needed. Everyone welcome. No fees.
Reminder #3: The Garden Gleaners are at your service! Just contact Rachel at rachelsunflower01432@gmail.com . She and her team will pick up your excess, help you with some harvesting if need be, and deliver it to our pantry for distribution to those who will actually be grateful for your extra veggies. Also, contact her if you'd like to join her team and help!
News #1: There is a grant-funded opportunity to receive Adult Mental Health First Aid training coming up on Thursday July 9 from 10am to 4pm in the Ayer Police Department Training Room. This is FREE for our whole region, not just Ayer, and is being offered in collaboration with LUK, Inc., with a grant from the Community Foundation of North Central MA. Spaces are limited, and you must register. Email Training@LUK.org to sign up. Two years ago, Melanie P and I attended this training, and we found it to be incredibly helpful. We definitely urge you to consider taking advantage of this opportunity!
News #2: If you come to deliver at the pantry this Wednesday, the usual parking lot by the gray door will not be available, as it is finally going to be sealed and striped. (Remember that's what set the building on fire last August?). Drive to the very end of Cambridge St, on the left side, put on your flashers, and we'll help you bring things in through the upper blue door on Washington St.
If you can shop for us this week, we are low on several items: boxes of instant potatoes, jelly, boxed mac + cheese, baked beans, cereal, 18 oz canisters of oatmeal, and adult diapers in size LARGE. Sometimes they come as M/L, depending upon the brand. We have more call for those made for females, if the brand makes a distinction. Some are unisex, and those are fine too. Please email me if you need our complete pantry list or you want our QR code for online donations. We can take drop-offs at the pantry (through the gray door next to the parking lot on Cambridge Street) on Wednesdays from 10 to noon (Please read the paragraph directly above for this Wednesday!), Fridays from 4 to 5, and Saturdays only from 9 to 10. Please do not leave food at the door outside of these hours. The bin is always available at Ayer Shop n' Save if those times don't suit: Please leave a note in the bag with your name so we know whom to thank! We are located at 21 Washington Street, Suite C, Ayer MA 01432
I love you all! Thank you so much for all of your support.

Reminder #2: Our friend Jin H will be on hand Saturday morning, June 20, from 10 to noon to help you make sense of all those numbers the bank sends you each month. No registration or appointment necessary: just stop in, have some coffee and a donut, and get your questions answered! Everyone is welcome. No fees.
