Good morning! We had a very eventful week, all good, and there is lots to catch you up on. The first bit of good news is that the weather finally cooperated, and our wonderful friends Mike H and Bob M risked life and limb to climb tall ladders and hang our sign on the Washington Street side of Shepherd of the Valley Church. If you've seen the sign near our door off the Cambridge Street side, the new one is identical. The greatest challenge besides climbing up those ladders was to create a frame for it and find the right type of hooks so that it won't damage the siding on the building. Thank you Mike! Thank you Bob!

Another lovely thing that happened last week was that we had a visit from some of our friends in the Ayer Rotary, and they brought us birthday tins for us to share at the pantry. You might remember that our friend Carla, Sarah, and crew brought birthday tins in early March. Well, these new ones came just in time as we had given all of those away...lots of Spring birthdays! I've attached an image of our cake-packing friends: Adam, Brooke, and Steve, along with me, who didn't pack cakes!

We really have so many people that we need to thank, and the Spring is a great time to do it. Here are some broad categories of volunteers and donors that we are dependent upon to be able to serve our guests and build our community each week:
The shoppers and donors
The bag packers
The cookie bakers
The pantry workers
The dinner workers
The support group leaders
The grocery store workers
The local farmers and gardeners
The local businesses, town departments, churches, and civic clubs
The workshop, class, and event leaders, and the tutors
The community foundations and other grantors
Anyone who doesn't neatly fit into one of those categories!

We hope everyone knows how much we appreciate, love, and respect them. This effort wouldn't be successful without all of us working together.

One Small Thing
Our friend Cathy C shared that while she was shopping for baking supplies several weeks back, a woman approached her in the parking lot. She had overheard Cathy mentioning her volunteer work to the cashier and offered to donate a $200 gift certificate valid at that store, as she does not usually shop there herself!

If you can shop for us this week, we are particularly in need of small boxes of instant potatoes, large bottles of apple juice, jars of jelly, hair conditioner, men's deodorant, razors for men and for women. Please email me if you need our full list or you want our QR code for online donations. We can take drop-offs at the pantry (through the gray door next to the parking lot on Cambridge Street) on Wednesdays from 10 to noon, Fridays from 4 to 5, and Saturdays only from 9 to 10. Please do not leave food at the door outside of these hours. The bin is always available at Ayer Shop n' Save if those times don't suit: Please leave a note in the bag with your name so we know whom to thank! We are located at 21 Washington Street, Suite C, Ayer MA 01432

As I said earlier, we appreciate all of you so much. I wish you a wonderful week ahead!
