March 30, 2026 newsletter

Good morning all!  I truly hope you had a great weekend.  It was colder than I was hoping, for sure, but all over our yard and throughout town, I see the signs of spring.

Our friends Cindy and Angela prepared the potluck dinner for everyone last Friday!  It was delicious, featuring a chicken and a vegetarian lasagna with a terrific white sauce.  The dining room was full!  If you are interested in getting involved in this potluck, just email me back.  We can always make room for more friends!

I was going to share with you about the results of our Board meeting and which activities/areas for service we decided to expand into, but I'm still waiting on the input from a few people, so that will have to wait until next week.  However, that doesn't mean that we haven't already launched into a couple of initiatives that we all agreed on.  We are moving forward with several partnerships, including with the Ayer Library, some of the area churches, and the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health.  We have worked with some of these before, but we felt it was time to dig in a bit and see how Stone Soup Kitchen could be a service to our community through these partnerships.  We are excited about where these joint programs could go.  If you're wondering about the little image attached here, more about that in the near future!

Speaking of new programs, did you know that two different health-related programs are available at the Ayer Library?  The Library is operating as a regional Telehealth Hub, which helps patrons to access appointments online.  In addition to that, a specialist who understands the ins and outs of MassHealth and the Health Connector for healthcare insurance is at the Library the first Tuesday of each month.  You can find out more about each of these programs at https://www.ayerlibrary.org/healthcare

One Small Thing

Our friend Brooke wrote that she has a soap business that donates 50% of proceeds to charity (Self Love to Spread Love) and she sells her soaps over at the Little Bee Bookshop in Ayer. Debra, aka Mrs Little Bee, wanted the donations from the sales at her shop to go to Stone Soup Kitchen, and Brooke said, "I couldn’t be happier to help support the cause!"  Thank you Brooke!

Keep sending in those small things that you do...they help keep us all inspired.

If you can shop for us this week, we are still in need of a few things that we go through quickly: large bottles of apple juice, coffee, and baking mixes other than pancake.  Please email me if you need our full list or you want our QR code for online donations.  We can take drop-offs at the pantry (through the gray door next to the parking lot on Cambridge Street) on Wednesdays from 10 to noon, Fridays from 4 to 5, and Saturdays only from 9 to 10.  Please do not leave food at the door outside of these hours.  The bin is always available at Ayer Shop n' Save if those times don't suit: Please leave a note in the bag with your name so we know whom to thank!  We are located at 21 Washington Street, Suite C, Ayer MA 01432

Thank you all just for being who you are.  I love you all!
