December 22, 2025 newsletter

Good morning everyone!  I have shout-outs to share this morning, our schedule for the holidays, and news on our upcoming partnership meeting, so let's get right to it!

Schedule first:

Stone Soup Kitchen will be closed from Wednesday, December 24 until Tuesday, December 30.

We will reopen on Wednesday, December 31 (for packing), and our dinner and pantry will resume on January 2 and 3 as usual.

There will be no letter next Monday, as I'll be with extended family, including my 90 year old father!

Shout-outs next:

AVS (Advanced Vacuum Systems), located in Ayer, has outdone themselves in their annual food drive for Stone Soup Kitchen.  Each year they help to restock our shelves following our holiday push so that we can go into the new year without any lack.  We are so grateful to them!

The Ayer office of National Grid has dedicated volunteer hours to us each month for several years now!  They send us fabulous people who dig right in and help us get extra projects done each month.  We are so appreciative of our partnership with all of them!

All year long, our friends Alison and Rich go above and beyond to make sure that we're receiving produce from the farm and also from themselves.  And they make sure that none of it goes to waste by coming to collect the leftovers and take them to other pantries.  There are many people who are faithful volunteers at SSK, but they are the two people whom everyone else knows!

Partners, Participants, and Allies:

SSK will be having a meeting on Saturday, January 24 at 1pm in the fellowship hall of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, after we close the pantry service.  We hope that ALL of you will be there.  I'll be sending out a separate letter, either later today or tomorrow with more info.

This has been an amazing year, and we couldn't have done all that we did without the help, support, encouragement, prayers, and sweat-equity of so many of you!  The next letter you receive from me (besides the Partners' meeting letter), in January, will be our annual wrap up of the year.  Personally, I always look forward to writing this one!  In the meantime, I wish for you a new year filled with the joy that comes from serving each other.  You most likely know the saying, “We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time,” and the time I've spent being part of Stone Soup Kitchen's amazing community has been, for me, the BEST time!

I love you all ~

Cyndi
