Good morning to all of you! What a perfect weekend it was...a couple of those bonus days we get after the calendar ticks past official summer. I hope you all had a chance to get outside and enjoy it.
Work on our entrance, damaged in the fire, is supposed to begin today. I've been told that it will be 2 weeks to finish it. In the meantime, we're still doing our workarounds on Fridays, and particularly on Saturdays. It will be good to have our entrance back and be able to put this behind us!
In the meantime, work goes on! We received another delivery of homemade cookies from our wonderful bakers. Thank you to Laurie S, who organizes that every couple of weeks. I wish each of you who bake could be with us on a Saturday to see how much it means to people to receive such a symbol of love in their bread bags. If you are interested in baking occasionally, please email me back and I'll get you in touch with Laurie.
We have other volunteer opportunities this fall if you have been inspired to help our communities: we'd like to add a few more people to the Saturday morning pantry schedule, and we're also looking for more people who would like to help with cooking for Friday nights. The schedules are arranged a month at a time, so you don't have to feel obligated to volunteer for a specific week every month.
We received a lovely and unexpected gift this week from a local graphic artist. Claire Kaede Kelly created a flyer that we can print out or use online in place of the terrible one that I threw together. You can see Claire's work at the link, and up above.
Thank you very much, Claire!

One Small Thing
A couple of weeks ago, we received a lovely donation of vegetables, herbs, and even cut flowers from a home garden in Tewksbury! There was a letter that came with the donation, and it's attached for you to see. We are extremely grateful to all of the other gardeners who have shared their bounty with us this season too, including the Ayer Community Garden + Lisa, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and Andy G, Patrick H, and all the rest who donated anonymously.

We are back to being able to receive food donations at the pantry, although it is probably still easiest for you all to drop them off at Ayer Shop 'n Save. If you need a copy of our complete list of pantry items, just email me and I'll send you one! If you're coming to the pantry, please contact me first so that I can tell you where the temporary entrance is...this might change day by day due to construction. If you drop off at Shop 'n Save, please do put a note in your bag so I know who it's from...we love to be able to thank you properly!
I love you all. Have an amazing week!
