A beautiful good morning to you all! Who managed to see the lights this weekend? Mike and I botched it, and it makes me really sad, but if that's all I have to complain about...well, you know! There were certainly plenty of other things that went right this past week, so I'm going to choose to concentrate on those instead 😊
Many thanks to those who responded to my request for info on the companies you work for that may have community grant programs. I was able to write one grant last week, thanks to one of these connections (I'm looking at you, MH!). Now a question for the rest of you: do any of you work at Bank of America, Walmart, or Whole Foods? Bank of America in particular has a grant program that I can apply for, but it has to be done very quickly as the deadline is coming up fast. I can do it without a point of contact, but it's so much better to have one! Will the rest of you who work for corporations please check to see if they have a grant program? Thank you!
We were gifted with cartons of Girl Scout cookies this week, and were able to share a box with everyone who came to the pantry on Saturday (thank you Sarah + Eric 💕). Special thanks also go out to Jonathan H, who came to visit with us on Friday evening, and to Rick J, who spent some extra time with us Saturday morning to help with packing. It was much appreciated! Besides the Girl Scout cookies, we still had a generous supply of homemade cookies from our bakers that Laurie S brought last week. I just received Laurie's email a few minutes ago saying that she's posted the next few dates for baking. If you'd like to get in on this, let me know and I'll hook you up with Laurie!
The week ended with our Crafts Gathering, led by the wonderful Debbie E. I've included a picture of the non-camera-shy folks that attended. There was a lot of laughter that I heard coming from the room! I don't know how many projects were completed, but if fun is the measure of success, then this was a winner.
If you can shop for us this week, we will gratefully take any food items from our full list. If you need the list, please let me know. It's harder to keep the shelves full right now, as if we had gremlins (we don't!). We'll be at the pantry on Wednesday from 10 to noon, Friday from 4 to 5:30, and Saturday from 9 to noon for drop-offs. And the bin is always available at Shop n' Save if those times don't suit. Please leave a note in the bag with your name so we know whom to thank.
I love you all...please take good care of yourselves!
