March 4, 2024 newsletter

Happy March everyone! I spent the last weekend of February in Wisconsin with my two lovely grandgirls, and the weather there was just as mild as it's been here. Highly unusual for both states, but also quite welcome. My thanks go out to my friends who kept it all running smoothly while I was gone: Tina, Dan, Kathleen, Melanie, and Tiny's, along with Nicole + Hunter, Pauline, Laurie and the Cookie Brigade, Alison + Rich, Becky + Rick. You guys are all the greatest!

This past week, we had a wonderful visit by Meg and Kev from the Pepperell VFW Post 3291. Along with the Bombas Socks Giving Program, Charles W. Moore lodge Angel Program, and Operation Service, this local Post puts together hundreds of pairs of high quality socks that they donate to us and other organizations. I've included a picture of our local heroes making the delivery! Thank you to all of the people who came together to make this possible.

Our next picture is of the cutie pies that gathered outside of Ayer Shop 'n Save this weekend to offer cups of hot chocolate and glitter tattoos to shoppers while they conducted their annual food drive for our pantry. It was a blustery but mild day, and shoppers responded generously, as usual for our region. Thank you to Lin + Vinny M for organizing this!

And our final picture is a sample of what Debbie E, our crafts guru, will be guiding people to make this coming Saturday, March 9 at our monthly Craft Gathering. Other supplies are available and free to use, or you are also welcome to bring your own project and just work on it in great company! The event is family-friendly, with kids always welcome. Refreshments are (of course!!) provided.

If you can shop for us this week, we are in need of a few personal care items, which we offer to all our pantry guests: shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Any food items from our full list are also always gratefully received! We'll be at the pantry on Wednesday from 10 to noon, Friday from 4 to 5:30, and Saturday from 9 to noon for drop-offs. And the bin is always available at Shop n' Save if those times don't suit. Please leave a note in the bag with your name so we know whom to thank!

Thank you all, and much love to you!
