YES, THERE IS ROOM AT THE INN!!

I just got off the phone with Brittany Beaudry, our wonderful social worker who is coordinating the care of everyone, and she had some really great news for all of us. First of all, only a few people who have been living at the Inn longer term have left, for various reasons. The rest have been able to stay...there truly was room at the Inn! So don't believe for one more moment that anyone's needs are being ignored over there. Brittany is working with all of them, and is making appointments with all of the current resident families that need any help. That's what she was in the process of doing when she made the discovery of what the State was doing. She will also make sure that they know about food help that we can provide for them if they want it.

As for the immigrants, they will be moving in gradually. They will not need food from us, but they will need household items, clothing, etc, especially baby things. Brittany will have a list, hopefully by the end of the week. Stone Soup Kitchen will not be involved in this, per se, but I will be helping to do some pick ups and transportation personally. If you would like to help, please EMAIL Brittany and tell her your name, phone number, and area of interest from this list below. Poor girl's phone is blowing up right now, so please give her a chance to get back to you! bbeaudry@ayer.ma.us

*Buying, donating, or collecting gently used items from the list she will compile and send to you
*Picking up items from local homes or businesses that want to donate and transporting them to a storage place to be determined
*Transporting items from the storage place to the specific families that need themselves

Please please please, do NOT bring any household items or clothing to Stone Soup Kitchen. We do NOT have space to store non-food items. Thank you, and I am absolutely sure that many of you will decide to help...you are collectively the most generous people that I know, and I also believe that you understand that no one's needs are being ignored in this matter. Ayer and the surrounding communities are stepping up to respond to the mess that our State created by lack of communication. This could have gone so much more smoothly, but we're just thankful that Brittany has a handle on it!

Love you all!
